FAQ
Do I still need favicon.ico?
Yes — it is still the first thing browsers, bookmark services and crawlers look for at the root of a site. Modern browsers also accept PNG icons, so this tool bundles both: one multi-size favicon.ico plus PNGs for hi-dpi tabs, home screens and PWA manifests.
Which sizes do I actually need?
A sensible default set is pre-ticked: 16 and 32 px for browser tabs, 48 px for Windows shortcuts, 180 px for the Apple touch icon and 192 / 512 px for Android and PWA manifests. The rest is optional — 512 px is the usual master for stores.
My logo isn’t square — what happens?
You choose: “Crop to square” keeps the center of the image, and “Fit with padding” letterboxes it onto a transparent or colored square instead. Either way every exported size is a perfect square.
Is transparency supported?
Yes — PNG and ICO both keep alpha, so a transparent logo stays transparent on the browser tab. Padding can be transparent or any color you pick.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. Every size is rendered and the ZIP is packed inside your browser tab — nothing ever leaves your device.
